From the Ramm archive- an 19th century document designed around the time of the arrival of the first ever giraffe in the UK; a gift from the Pasha of Egypt to King George 1V in 1827; sparking the public’s fascination with & the fashion for all things zoological & exotic. A Regency period printed stripe with a twist- a blend of neoclassical urns with feeding giraffes; 3 colourways- archive colouring from the original document + 2 for updated for today’s market- originally on cotton chintz, again updated & printed on a fine 100% linen cloth.
